Ramiz Raja
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has been reportedly sacked from his post on Wednesday. The move from the PCB comes a day after England secured a historic clean sweep over Pakistan in the Test series.
Taking over in 2021, Ramiz was the man in charge for two T20 World Cups and a 50-over Women's World Cup.
According to reports, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has cleared the appointment of Najam Sethi as the new chairman of the PCB. Under the Board's constitution, the prime minister nominates candidates for the post of chairman and one of them is then elected by the board of governors.
Speculation was rife over the last few days that a lobby in PCB was working to get Ramiz removed from the top job. Questions were being asked of his administration as Pakistan have lost four consecutive Tests and have failed to win a single Test in the last two series.
