KKR captain Shreyas Iyer
The two-run loss against Lucknow Super Giants knocked Kolkata Knight Riders out of the IPL, but that did not stop losing captain Shreyas Iyer from describing it as "one of the best games" that he has ever been part of.
Iyer was particularly praiseworthy of Rinku Singh, who nearly won the game for KKR with his 15-ball 40, including two sixes and a four off the last over the match, by Marcus Stoinis, with 21 runs needed.
"I love the way Rinku got us till the end. Unfortunately, he couldn't time it when two balls were remaining. He was really sad. I was hoping he could finish the game for us and be the hero, but still, he played a fantastic knock and I'm really happy for him," said Iyer.
"It was a do or die situation and despite losing two wickets in the Powerplay, our mindset was to go for the chase," he added.
