Recently, star Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin achieved the feat of completing 100 matches in the game's traditional format. Despite being the side's premier spinner, Ashwin never captained the Indian team. So far, he has 511 wickets in 100 tests

Former spinner Harbhajan Singh represented India in 103 test matches in which he bagged 417 runs. Even he never received the honour to lead the Indian team 

India's former batsman Vangipurappu Venkata Sai Laxman played 134 matches for India in tests. Despite being a consistent performer, Laxman was never handed the charge of Team India. The prolific batsman scored 8781 test runs in his career

India's pace spearhead Ishant Sharma has so far made his 105 appearances in the longest format of the game. Being a part of the team for so many matches, Sharma never captained the side. The veteran also has 311 test wickets for India

India's test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara also completed 100 matches for India. So far, the veteran has featured in 103 tests in which he accumulated 7,195 runs but was never honoured with India's captaincy
