Munich: Robert Lewandowski claims his move to Bayern Munich this summer was motivated by his hunger to win things, something he feels Borussia Dortmund could not satisfy as well as the Bavarians.
The Poland international striker will make the switch between Germany's top two clubs on a free transfer once his contract with Dortmund expires, and he believes he will be able to add to his trophy cabinet from next season.
"It's got to be my goal to win and collect titles," the 25-year-old told Germany's Bild newspaper. "I'm certainly going to have better chances with Bayern."
Bayern collected four trophies this season, missing out only on the Champions League and the German Supercup.
The latter was won by Dortmund, but they otherwise ended the season empty-handed for the second year running.
Lewandowski will nevertheless look back fondly on his time in Dortmund which saw him win back-to-back Bundesliga titles and a DFB-Pokal.
"It was a fantastic time which I will never forget," he said. "But the time had come for me to take the next step.
"Dortmund have always been capable of signing good players after others leave and I'm sure they will do that again.
"Dortmund are going to be challengers again next season, I'm certain of that."
