Last year's champions Don Bosco (Matunga) and runners-up Campion School (Cooperage) won their respective matches in contrasting fashion during the Mumbai Schools Sports Association-organised boys' U-16 Div-I inter-schools football tournament at Azad Maidan yesterday.

While Don Bosco rode on the four-goal second half blitz from striker Shyam Redekar to overpower St Joseph's (Wadala) 4-0, Campion struck early in the second period to pull off a 1-0 win against Christ Church (Byculla).

This was the first win for Don Bosco and Campion, who had earlier drawn their opening matches. Meanwhile, Jamnabai Narsee (Juhu) scored from two fantastic efforts courtesy Shuban Deep and Ansheer Nagpal on either side of the interval to record a 2-1 against St Mary's ICSE (Mazagon). Shuban provided Jamnabai the lead with a 30-yard free-kick in the 21st minute. But, St Mary's restored parity through Shaurya Sawant's long ranger in the 27th minute. Jamnabai regained the lead when midfielder Anshveer Nagpal scored in the 57th minute.
