The 47-year-old former striker has been on the defensive in the face of suggestions he is not getting the best out of a talented crop of players in the wake of the 2-0 loss to Italy in Lyon on Monday. That defeat means Belgium, who sit second in the FIFA world rankings, need a positive result against the Irish before their final Group E game against Sweden as they look to progress to the last 16.
