Masked raiders stole thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and cash from Le Royal Monceau, Paris, where footballer Lionel Messi, wife Antonela and kids live.
According to The Sun, two masked men were seen on CCTV climbing down to a sixth-floor balcony recently. They got in via an unlocked balcony door, one floor above Messi's GBP17,000-a-night (approx Rs 17.07 lakh) suite. Reportedly, four rooms were hit, weeks after the Paris Saint-Germain star waved at fans from his balcony.
A female victim from Dubai had left her GBP1,000-a-night (approx Rs 1 lakh) room for the evening.
The next day she found her GBP3,000 (approx Rs 3lakh) gold necklace was missing, plus GBP500 (approx Rs 50,000) earrings and GBP2,000 (approx Rs 2lakh)
in cash.
