Spanish media claimed on Sunday that Zinedine Zidane has already told his players that he intends to quit as coach at the end of the season.

According to Onda Cero radio and Goal online, the Frenchman, who has a contract until 2022, had told his squad this a week ago. Goal added: "The coach informed his players last Saturday before facing Sevilla on Sunday at Valdebebas".

Onda Cero reporter Fernando Burgos said Zidane's successor would come from a shortlist that includes Massimiliano Allegri, Raul Gonzalez and Joachim Loew. Earlier on Saturday, Zidane had said: "There comes a time when it's the moment to change. It's not like I turn away and don't look back but there are moments when you have to be there and there are moments when that's it, it's finished, it's time to change."
