Cristiano Ronaldo

The signing of Cristiano Ronaldo by Al-Nassr in January 2023 seems to have set a trend of transfers to Saudi Arabian clubs. The Portuguese football star moved from Manchester United to Al-Nassr in January.

Karim Benzema

Real Madrid’s star player Karim Benzema left the Spanish capital and joined the Saudi side Al-Ittihad on a three-year deal, after a 14-year long stint with the former club during which he won five Champions League titles.

N’Golo Kante

World Cup-winning French midfielder N’Golo Kante headed from Chelsea to Al-Ittihad on free transfer. In his 7-year long stint at Stamford Bridge, he won the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup.

Roberto Firmino

Roberto Firmino exited Liverpool in May after an 8-year stint with the club. The Brazilian forward has now joined Saudi club Al-Ahli on a three-year contract. He was the club’s second big signing after Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy.

Jordan Henderson

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is the latest entrant in this list. He joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq after a 12-year long stint at Anfield. The England international will be reunited with former Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard, who is Al-Ettifaq manager. (Pic: Twitter/JHenderson)
