The Mathradas Goculdas Trophy, the feature event of Saturday's seven-race card at Mahalaxmi, has attracted only four class one runners for the 1400m trip. But recognized sprinter Brynhill trying to extend over an extra furling, and the entry of Bangalore challenger Super Sunshine, pitched in by local trainer Malesh Narredu, may make the contest interesting.
However, I feel the Bezan Chenoy-trained St Andrews, who returned to winning form on this track in last start, will be able to hold the above-mentioned duo at bay and add another victory to take his career score to three wins from six starts. The vastly improved St Andrews, in fact, attracts as the best bet of the Saturday card.
Another good bet on the card appears to be Forest Fairy, from trainer Bezan Chenoy's yard, who is expected to show improvement in her second career start after finishing a runner up to the good type Benefactor on debut. She is expected to win the Nanoli Stud Juvenile Stakes reserved for three-year-olds.
