Jadhav, who hails from a poor family and travels in the local train daily with his grandmother from Badlapur - 65 km from the CST - caught Vengsarkar's attention when he scored a hundred for the academy team at the Azad Maidan recently.
Appreciating his talent and dedication, Vengsarkar handed over a kit bag, a cricket bat, pair of gloves and helmet to Jadhav.
