Aamir recollected his stint with Ali. "He trained me for almost six months at Bandra Gymkhana before he was appointed the chief coach of the MSLTA. I asked my dad if I could train with him at Cooperage, but my dad decided that I should concentrate on my studies and discontinueu00a0tennis," Aamir said.
He added: "I started playing tennis when I was 11 and stopped by 14. I was nuts about tennis but couldn't continue playing it. I can't thank Sir enough for whatever he has done to me and many such students who have became great players." Aamir stressed on a teacher's role: "It is the most important. If a teacher is not good, it can ruin a whole generation."
