All-Star gold not enough for Joseph's Olympic berth

India's Asian Games 400m hurdles gold medallist Joseph Abraham's Olympic dreams were crushed yesterday despite the fact he clinched the gold medal in the Asian All Star Athletics meet here.

Abraham clocked 50.22s to be first, but his effort was short of the 2012 Games' qualifying ‘B' standard of 49.80secs.

Dimitriy Koblov (50.64s) and Viktor Leptikov (50.86s) from Kazakhstan came second and third respectively. London Olympics-bound Tintu Luka finished third in the women's 800m, clocking 2:01.71s. u00a0
