Ferrari's Alonso says his team will challenge Red Bull for the title

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettelu00a0 has been on top so far in this Formula One season, but ferarri's Fernando Alonso is one driver who can never be ignored ufffd especially at his home circuit in Spain. The former world champion finally finished third on the podium at Istanbul after a slow start to the season and will have to capitalise on the momentum gained.

Alonso currently trails leader Vettel by 52 points. The Spaniard is fifth in the drivers' standings behind Vettel, McLaren's Lewis Hamilton, Webber and McLaren's Jenson Button. "What matters are results and we've started to make the podium. We must do that regularly and if so I'm convinced that we will again be able to fight for the title," said Alonso.

Meanwhile, Red Bull's Vettel is closing in on the legendary Ayrton Senna's record of eight straight poles at the Spanish Grand Prix, which marks the start of the European season.
