American professional golfer Paige Spiranac is known just as much for risque attire as her skills on the course. In a heartbreaking account, Spiranac, 24, revealed that the bullying she received from trolls on her LET Tour debut two years ago due to her scantily clad outfits drove her to a point where she did not want to live anymore.
"I was sitting in the bathroom just balling and was like, 'I don't want to go through this pain, this feel of helplessness. I was alone and scared," she told British tabloid, Daily Mail on Tuesday. "I said I never wanted anyone to feel the way I felt in that moment. How scared I was. How helpless I felt in that I was bullied so bad to the point that I didn't want to live anymore," she added.
"People of all walks of life are cyber-bullied every single day and that's not okay. It's time we start supporting the victims instead of telling them to delete their social media accounts or ignore the hate. It's time we made a difference, so I've dedicated a significant portion of my time to helping others," Spiranic, who is a cyber bulling ambassador for NGO called Cyberspace, explained.
