Former England captain Andrew Flintoff is taking tips from boxing champ Mike Tyson as he embarks on a new career in the sport.
The former World Heavyweight Champion, who is known for getting so intense during fights that he once bit his opponent's ear, recently dropped by the gym where Freddie Flintoff is training to give the aspiring boxer some valuable words of advice.
"He spoke a lot about the emotion of boxing and it was all relevant to how I was feeling. So to hear it from Mike Tyson made me realise it was okay for me to feel like that too," the Daily Mail quoted Flintoff, as saying.
"He talked a lot about what he went through pre-fight and in the run up to a fight; the emotional states he was in and the nerves he experienced before he fought," he added.
According to the paper, Flintoff said that the meeting with Tyson, who was one of the best boxers ever, was highly inspiring for him.
"He is obviously one of the best boxers ever, so hearing what he had to say gave me a lot of inspiration. I went on the pads in front of him which was a pretty surreal experience," he said.
The meeting between the two was filmed for the a television programme âFlintoff: From Lords to the Ring', to be aired later this month, and consists of two hour-long episodes that follows how Freddie balances his grueling training schedule with his family life as he gets ready for his first professional boxing match, the paper said.
