British tennis star Andy Murray's mother Judy termed the Next Gen ATP tennis finals draw ceremony as awful. Models walked down the ramp with letters "A" and "B" stuck to their bodies.

Players were then told to pick a model to determine which group they would play in, reported The Sun. The ATP's flagship tournament for the world's top players aged 21 and under was launched in Milan on Sunday. Judy retweeted Ben Rothberg's video he posted on Twitter and wrote: "Awful."

Earlier, Rothberg wrote: "The ATP NextGen Milan draw ceremony made players select models to determine their groups. Stunningly uncomfortable, cringeworthy and trashy." A user commented, "How the ATP permit that. That's incredible that looks like a cheap table dance. Disgusting start to the new tournament." While another one said, "I feel as if I just walked by accident into a private party with rich boys and hookers."

Later, ATP issued a statement, which read: "ATP and Red Bull apologise for the offence caused by the draw ceremony for the Next Gen ATP Finals. The intention was to integrate Milan's rich heritage as one of the fashion capitals of the world. However, our execution of the proceedings was in poor taste and unacceptable. We deeply regret this."
