Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger sent a water bottle flying after his team threw away a 2-0 lead in the final 10 minutes to crash 3-2 at Wigan, blowing up their Premier League dream.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger sent a water bottle flying after his team threw away a 2-0 lead in the final 10 minutes to crash 3-2 at Wigan, blowing up their Premier League dream.

"I don't know who will win the title now and I don't care. If we had won the game today of course we'd have been back in it," Wenger said.

"To win championships you have to focus on the pitch and you have to do it for 90 minutes. Today we were not capable of maintaining it," The Sun quoted Wenger, as saying.

Arsenal would have gone within three points of leaders Chelsea had they won, but Charles N'Zogbia capped a sensational fight back to virtually assure Wigan of Premier League survival.

Arsenal were never at their best but appeared to be going into the final 10 minutes. Yet Wenger felt they lost their discipline.

He said: "I believe we were not focused and not disciplined and we were caught. We were a bit unlucky as well but you have to keep focused for 90 minutes, otherwise you get punished, particularly when you are up against a team with nothing to lose."

"After it went 2-0 we lacked cohesion and discipline. I always feared we could be punished.

"Personally I never felt the game was over. I saw we were having difficulties keeping the ball and creating other chances. They refused to give up and we were punished," he said.

"It is the most disappointing defeat of the season, particularly with the way we conceded. It is difficult to understand and accept," Wenger added.
