Sydney: Australian No 1 Bernard Tomic has apologised after he was arrested in Miami on Wednesday for 'resisting an officer without violence' after police were called to his suite at the W South Beach Hotel due to a noise complaint.
Speaking about the incident to CBS4 News in Miami, World No 25 Tomic said: "It was definitely my fault. I was asleep on several occasions when they complained at first. I'm sorry for the police and the disturbance I caused."
Tomic's arrest sheet said he at one point "closed the door on hotel security staff and refused to lower the music." Tomic said: "Yeah, because I told him that I wasn't playing the music too loud, and he was unhappy with the volume. So I asked him to come in and we negotiated the volume and he still wasn't happy."
