Australian high jumper Amy Pejkovic has revealed that she plans to concentrate on becoming a television presenter after complications with a knee injury have shattered her chances of competing at the Commonwealth Games to be held in the Gold Coast from April 4.

For now, Pejkovic, 25, is switching degrees so she can study journalism. "I've done a few TV presenting courses at university, so it's definitely something I want to pursue," Pejkovic told British tabloid, The Daily Mail. This is not the first time she has suffered a setback in her career. Pejkovic had her Olympic dreams destroyed six years ago after she was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Despite disappointments, the stunner still manages to keep her positive attitude intact.

"The fact I'm still here and still going - doing the things that I love, surrounded by the people that I love - I've got to count my lucky stars because I've been one of the lucky ones to get through it," she added.

Pejkovic, who also works as a model, was recently chosen as brand ambassador for acne treatment brand, Kleresca.
