The Indian women's table tennis team began their Commonwealth Games campaign with a 3-0 win against Sri Lanka in a Group B match here Monday.
The home team did not face any difficulty against the Sri Lankans and wrapped the match in less than an hour.
Shamini Kumaresan won the first singles 11-9, 11-9, 11-7 against Vithanage Gonapinuwala.
In the second match, India No.1 Mouma Das defeated Badu Manniku 11-4, 11-5, 11-4.

11-7.
Indian coach Bhawani Mukherjee said it was a good warm-up match before the tie against New Zealand.
"It was an easy match to start with. I am looking forward for the New Zealand match now. Let's see how the team plays in the evening," Mukherjee told IANS.
The women's team, bronze medallist four years ago, is grouped with Sri Lanka and
New Zealand in Group D. They are seeded seeded fourth in the tournament.
