Manchester City manager Mancini wants his players to prove that they can win at Anfield, as three points would see his side go six points clear of Tottenham.
He has called on his players to prove that they can beat a team like Liverpool in their own backyard.
The two teams clash at Anfield today, with the visitors looking to tighten their grip on the last available Champions League spot by going six points clear of fifth placed Tottenham Hotspur, albeit having played a game more at that point.
"We have a big game against United, but we cannot think about that because the game with Liverpool is very important," said Mancini. "I think we are in a good moment after beating Sunderland and we must continue to show the same kind of form. It will be difficult because Liverpool are a good team and Kenny Dalglish is doing a good job, but these are the games that we must show we can win."
