US Open and Australian Open champion Clijsters, who will be named as the WTA's No 1 ranked player on Monday for the first time in five years, saw off the challenge of Estonian third seed Kaia Kanepi 6-1, 7-5. This will be the third time the Belgian is rankedu00a0 No 1.
Fourth seed Kvitova of Czech Republic enjoyed an even more straightforward route to the final, thrashing American Bethanie Mattek-Sands 6-2, 6-0 in just 59 minutes.
Kvitova's last tournament victory was at Brisbane last month.
The 20-year-old then had a storming run at the Australian Open, where she upset local hope Samantha Stosur on her way to a second Grand Slam quarter-final appearance.
