Chirayu Amin, the IPL commissioner in 2010 & 2011, was baffled by the allegations from FICA, the world players' union. "I'm not aware of anything of this sort, but if it has happened, the BCCI being the parent body, should take all necessary action so that the players immediately get their dues," he told MiD DAY yesterday.
"I have sympathies for the players as they come here to earn money and glamour. Now if the franchises don't pay them, it should be dealt with harshly. In this case, BCCI's reputation is also at stake and if it (non-payment) has happened, the board will sort it out with immediate effect," Amin said.
