Earlier this month, Force India finished outside points at Silverstone, as Brit driver Paul di Resta retired after a collision with Lotus' Romain Grosjean in the opening lap and Hulkenberg failed to hold on to his ninth spot with just two laps remaining - ultimately finishing 12th.
Force India are currently languishing in eighth spot with 44 points, but Hulkenberg is confident Sunday's âspecial' race at Hockenheimring circuit will help revive his team's fortunes.
"It's a basic circuit and one that I know very well. It should be a good track for over taking. A finish around eighth spot is realistic. It will be competitive and difficult, but we'll try hard.
"Also, it being my home race makes it a little bit special. I want to do well for myself and for Force India. My family and friends will be watching, there will be quite a bit of home support," said the 24-year-old.
Scot Di Resta is fired up to achieve a points finish: "We're disappointed, but the mood is still very positive. We will try and score some points in Germany."u00a0
