Gabbar bhi hain!

If there's one name that stands out from all others at the World Cup, not necessarily for proficieny in the game, it has to be that of Canada's left winger Sukhwinder Gabbar Singh.

"When I was a kid I was quite plump. So, the people in my village in Gurdaspur, Punjab called me Gabbar Singh as Sholay got released around the same time.

"Even in Canada people now call me Gabbar Singh though my real name is Sukhwinder," Gabbar told MiD DAY yesterday after Canada went down by half a dozen goals to the Netherlands.

Sadly one could not ask him "Kitney goal maarey?" because the answer would be zero.
