India's top ranked player Saurav Ghosal crashed out of the $2,77,500 World Squash Open after being humbled by Egyptian Karim Darwish in Kuwait City.


India's top ranked player Saurav Ghosal crashed out of the $2,77,500 World Squash Open after being humbled by Egyptian Karim Darwish in Kuwait City.


World No 34 Ghosal, who for the first time in his career has made it to the second round of the premier event, lost 4-11, 5-11, 9-11, 1-11 to top seed Darwish in 40 minutes at the all-glass court in Green Island on Monday night.


Ghosal, India's lone challenge, had beaten French qualifer Mathieu Castagnet 0-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-5 in the opening round of the PSA World Tour Squash event.


"It was a bad outing for me. Karim played splendidly and gave me no chances," explained the 29th seed from Chennai after his match. Players from 24 nations are participating in the event, which is the richest in men's professional circuit.
