Glory Of Dancer, who created sensation when his two progenies ufffd Hotstepper (2008) and Antonios
(2009) ufffd won the McDowell Indian Derby in quick succession, died yesterday at the Nanoli stud farm. He suffered brain haemorrhage after getting injured in a freak accident in the paddock. He was 21.

Glory Of Dancer bolted on yesterday morning after his handler failed to restrain him, hitting a tree guard before crashing into the fence, and suffered severe head injuries which proved fatal. For the Indian breeding industry, this is the third major loss this year after Usha stud's Razeen & Poonawalla farm's Placerville, both of whom had died recently on account of cardiac arrest.

Glory Of Dancer sired 198 named foals in nine years of which 146 were winners, including 26 black type performers.

The two Derby winners sired by him were both owned by the Rattonsey family of Mumbai who also
owned the star stallion.

"He gave us everything ufffdname, fame & glory," said an emotional FarouqRattonsey who rushed to the Nanoli stud farm on hearing the tragic news, "Death is inevitable, but the manner in which he faced it in an accident saddens my heart."
