Top seed Fernando Gonzalez dropped just three games as he cruised into the second round of the ATP Movistar Open in Santiago yesterday.
The Chilean, on home clay, hammered Spain's Oscar Hernandez 6-2, 6-1 in just 59 minutes.
Three seeds fell in the first round. Fourth seed Uruguay's Pablo Cuevas was dumped 7-6 (7/5) 6-3 by Ricardo Mello. Poland's Lukasz Kubot beat fifth-seed Argentine Horacio Zeballos 3-6, 7-5 6-3 and Brazil's Joao Souza upset No 7 German Simon Greul 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7/5).
