Tiger Woods, winless in nearly 18 months, was among the stars who practiced on Sunday at Augusta National in rounds that the 14-time major winner says can be critical to claiming a Masters title.

England's Luke Donald and 22-year-old American Rickie Fowler were among the golfers who joined Woods in taking advantage of perfect conditions to practice on the famed course ahead of the 75th Masters, which begins on Thursday.

Woods, a 14-time major champion chasing the record 18 majors won by Jack Nicklaus, seeks his fifth Masters crown and first victory since the sex scandal that led to his divorce and shattered his iconic image.

"Logging so many hours heading into Augusta this week," Woods said in a posting on his Twitter account.

"Nervous, excited, hoping the hard work pays off."
