The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has started a probe into claims that Olympic Games officials violated regulations regarding the sale of London 2012 tickets, the BBC reported yesterday.

The claims, voiced by The Sunday Times, prompted the IOC to hold an emergency meeting of its executive board via conference call, referring the allegations to its independent ethics commission.

"The IOC has moved quickly to deal with allegations that some National Olympic Committees (NOC) and Authorised Ticket Resellers (ATR) have broken rules relating to the sale of Olympic tickets," the IOC said.u00a0
