When Kenyan Olympic athlete Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon won a gold medal at Rio Olympics 2016, little did she kno that that was about to bring a huge change for her village.
Kipyegon, who won the gold medal in the women's 1500 metres at Rio 2016, created an impact big enough to sort out issues in her village of Ndabibit in Nakuru County.
The village was deprived of simple and basic facilities such as power supply for almost 40 years.
Faith's father had also appealed to the President to enable connection for electric supply in the village - for no other reason but to watch his own daughter at Rio 2016 Olympics. The authorities, without further delay, took this matter up and electricity was provided to the entire village within a span of only nine days.
Little did Faith Kipyegon know, that she would not only be winning gold for her country, but also be the deciding factor in bringing light into her village.
