LA Lakers' star Kobe Bryant has said he cannot miss being part of the London Olympic Games in 2012. But before that on October 4 Lakers will clash with Minnesota Timberwolves here.

"Beijing (2008) was such a wonderful experience that I absolutely have to be in London. It wasn't just winning gold which was good, but mixing with so many great athletes from so many sports," the basketball icon told The Telegraph.

Byrant recently signed an $80 million two-year extension with Lakers. He has been in good touch this season.

However, Lakers have decided to rest Bryant for the final two NBA regular season games against Sacramento and the Los Angeles Clippers. Defending NBA champion Lakers said the time off the court would give Bryant more time to heal a broken finger on his right hand. Bryant has also been playing with a sprained ankle and sore right knee in the past few weeks.
