Mumbai: Krishna Karkera scored the all important winner as Don Bosco (Matunga) âB' beat Arya Vidya Mandir (Juhu) 1-0 to win the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) boys' U-12 Division II football title at Azad Maidan yesterday.

Despite scoring the winner in the 30th minute, 10-year-old Krishna was not too pleased with his performance. "I could have scored more... I missed three clear chances," said the youngster.
Don Bosco coach Naresh Solanki was happy to see their second string side excel for a change. "Our âA' teams have always done well but this is the first time in six years that our âB' team has won the Div II final," he said.
The hard-fought win however, did not ensure promotion for the Bosco boys to Div I as the MSSA rules state that if the school's âA' team is already in Div I, a second team cannot be promoted to the same division.
Meanwhile, in the third-place match, a brace by Ridge D'Mello saw Sacred Heart (Santacruz) beat Campion (Cooperage) 2-1. Shaun Bakht scored for the Cooperage school. AVM and Sacred Heart were promoted to Div I.
