McLaren ace Lewis Hamilton wants to spend more time on the podium and hence wants the British national anthem to be extended, The Sun reported Hamilton, who clinched his second victory of the seasonu00a0 in Sunday's German Grand Prix, says his rivals' enjoy far more time than him on the podium as their anthems are much longer than God Save The Queen.

Hamilton said: "I am massively proud to hear the national anthem.

"When you're growing up and you see Olympians and the greats standing on the podium, you dream of being up there and having the anthem played.

"But everyone else's is much longer than ours, so I would urge the UK to extend our National Anthem.

"When I stand up there and Felipe Massa has won, Brazil's anthem is like 10 minutes long. Ours is less than half a minute."

The 26-year-old is eyeing back-to-back victories with a win in Hungary this weekend.

"I have won in Hungary twice before and can do it again. If the car behaves like it did at the Nurburgring, we will be there once more. There's still a long, long way to go and it's about trying to keep doing it, trying to get some consistency," Hamilton added.
