The inter-school boys U-14 Division I football final between Don Bosco (Matunga) and St Stanislaus High School (Bandra) at Azad Maidan ended without a result. Yesterday, play was stopped due to bad light after both teams were tied at 0-0 at regulation time and the match went into tie-breaker.

Referee Rohan Rebello blew the full time whistle at 6.13 pm and informed MSSA officials that the match could not be played further due to poor visibility. The shoot-outs couldn't be held yesterday.

St Stanislaus coach Jaywant Pathak said, "we cannot play the tie-breaker tomorrow since we have a game to play tomorrow at another venue. Our players came for the match after appearing for their terminal exams. They also have another paper tomorrow after which they need to reach the Goans Sports Ground at 11.30 am for the game. The boys are tired and they have exam pressure too, so at the moment, we are just waiting for MSSA to arrive at some conclusion."

Don Bosco coach Leslie Machado felt that MSSA's decision should be beneficial to both sides. "We are ready to play the match again, but the rules do not allow you to do that. I hope MSSA takes a decision which will benefit both sides," said Machado.

Meanwhile, MSSA Honorary Secretary Sebastian Fernandes said: "We informed coaches of both teams that the tie-breaker will take place at 2.30 tomorrow (Tuesday). But, both teams have written to us saying that they not willing to play the tie-breaker and are ready to share first place as joint winners.

"We are facing such an issue for the first time. We have never had joint winners, so we have asked both teams to give us some time to resolve this problem. We will take up this matter in the Executive Committee Meeting on October 29 and come to a conclusion."
