Goalkeeper Chris Johnson's spectacular show helped Don Bosco High School 'B' (Matunga) beat St Dominic Savio High School (Andheri) 2-0 via tie-breaker and enter the final of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA)-organised Fr Donnelly boys' U-14 Cup at St Stanislaus ground, Bandra yesterday. Chris pulled off three crucial saves in the decider while his teammates, Elton D'Souza and Boris Fernandes were on the target for the Matunga outfit.
Both teams started the game aggressively, but neither failed to break the deadlock at the end of the first-half. The game then went into the decider after both teams remained goalless. In another semi-final, Don Bosco 'A' (Matunga) beat Don Bosco International School (Matunga) 9-0. Neel Naik (fifth and 29th minute) and Aditya Kabre (36th and 39th) scored, while Shriharsh Surepalli (1st minute), Rakshit Shrivastava (14th), Rohan Pillay (17th), Krrish Nandaajog (24th) and Aman Parmar (32nd) netted a goal apiece for the winning team.
Earlier, in the Vijay Raheja boys' under-12 semi-finals, St Stanislaus 'A' (Bandra) hammered Don Bosco 'B' (Matunga) 7-1. Shaun D'Mello (2nd and 11th min), Jaden Pareira (13th and 27th), Christiano Corriea (33rd and 34th) and Keon Barnes (10th) were on target. Ratnesh Chile (25th) scored the lone goal for the Matunga outfit. In another semi-final, Don Bosco High School 'A' (Matunga) beat Childrens Academy (Malad) 5-0. Aashay Bhoyar (sixth and 17th minute) scored a brace while Advait Pol (13th), Harshar Pednekar (22nd) and Andron Christopher (36th) scored a goal each for the Matunga outfit.
