Top seed Madhav Dhingra of Dhirubhai Ambani International School (Bandra) believes he can make it to the last four without a hitch after he beat Sagar Sutaria of Jamnabai Narsee School (Vile Parle) 11-1,11-9 to advance to the pre-quarters in the boys under-16 MSSA-Nike Inter-School squash tournament at the Police Gymkhana yesterday.
Madhav took control of the game,u00a0 surging ahead 10-0 and later closing out the game 11-1. The second game saw Sagar fight back and the lead changed hands several times, but the top seed showed why he was best with his spectacular overhand stroke that summed up the game and match.u00a0
Despite picking a groin injury at the Little Masters Squash Tournament (LMST) last week, Madhav is confident he can make it to the semis as his nemesis Abimanyu Shah is not playing in this tournament
"I don't have much competition other than Sumer Rao who I might play in the semis. But the biggest obstacle, Abimanyu, who I lost to in the LMST is not playing so I am a bit relaxed,"
said Madhav.
