New Delhi: Ace Indian discus thrower Vikas Gowda continued his fine form as his effort of 65.75m helped him win gold at the Triton Invitational at La Jolla in San Diego in the US on Sunday.
Gowda, the reigning Commonwealth Games champion and silver winner in 2014 Asian Games, added half a meter more to his performance at Chula Vista a few days back where he had come up with a throw of 65.25m to qualify for World Championships in Beijing in August.
His performance today was just 25cm short of Rio Olympics qualifying mark.
Chad Wright of Jamaica was second with an effort of 65.03m while Erik Cadee of the Netherlands was third in 64.45m.
The 31-year-old Gowda, who is based in the United States, holds the national record of 66.28m.
