A day after MiD DAY reported that there was no officially appointed chief coach for the Mumbai University hockey team playing the Inter-University tournament here, Director of physical education Dr UN Kendre hurriedly drafted a letter of appointment in favour of Laxman Rao, who has been training the boys across the last month or so. Moments before the start of the Mumbai vs Aurangabad match yesterday Rao was asked to vacate the substitutes' bench as he was not officially designated as the chief coach of the team. Last evening however, Rao got his due. "I've heard that my appointment letter is ready so that's great news for me. But, my task is not achieved until the boys win the University title," he said.
