Mumbai win one match in HIL, at last

Captain Sandeep Singh led from the front as he scored two goals from penalty corners for Mumbai Magicians who beat Uttar Pradesh Wizards 4-0 at the MHA Mahindra Stadium here yesterday.


This was the Mumbai team's first win after seven straight defeats which left them tottering in the last position in the HIL table.

Jonny Jasrotia also scored a brace for Mumbai. Goalkeeper PR Sreejesh also had a good outing under the bar to deny the Wizards any goals.

The win earned the Magicians five crucial points thereby taking their tally to 12 points. They still have four more matches, including three at home, in hand to qualify.u00a0The Wizards, meanwhile, are stuck on 17 points courtesy their fourth loss in double as many games.u00a0
