Andy Murray vowed to work harder than ever to break his Grand Slam duck after his latest attempt to end Britain's 75-year wait for a Wimbledon champion ended in bitter defeat

Andy Murray vowed to work harder than ever to break his Grand Slam duck after his latest attempt to end Britain's 75-year wait for a Wimbledon champion ended in bitter defeat.

Murray addresses a press conference after his 7-5, 2-6, 2-6, 4-6
semi-final defeat to Nadal

The World No 4 had his fans daring to dream of victory on Friday after surging into a one-set lead against Rafael Nadal before eventually succumbing to a familiar 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 semi-final loss.

It followed a semi-final defeat to Nadal in the French Open last month, which had been preceded by a loss in the Australian Open final against Novak Djokovic earlier this season.

Murray said Friday's defeat reinforced the need to work harder than ever. He said: "I'll just have to work harder than I ever did before. Try and improve my game and get stronger. Be more professional.

Try and learn from what happened. Think about what I need to improve. You've just got to work harder to get
better."
