The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Saturday denied CVC (Central Vigilance Commission) reports that allege that NDMC used substandard materials in the construction of two CWG venues.

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Saturday denied CVC (Central Vigilance Commission) reports that allege that NDMC used substandard materials in the construction of two CWG venues.

"We have not received any reports from the CVC so far. The CTE (Chief Technical Examination) wing did conduct some tests some time back and we have replied to them," NDMC spokesperson Anand Tiwari told IANS.

The CVC documents gathered under the Right to Information Act said that substandard concrete and less quantity of cement were used in the construction of and refurbishment of Talkatora Indoor Stadium and Shivaji Stadium.

A majority of samples did not pass the standard array of tests, the documents found. "After the reported failure of cubes, non-destructive tests were carried out and results were found to vary from good to excellent.

IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Delhi also conducted ND tests and strength of concrete conforms to required strength and the report was submitted to CTE's office," Tiwari said.
