Patel, a former state champion and twice British and UK Open semi-finalist, beat Jatinder Dawer of NSCI 610-275 in the 90-minute time format final.
Patel lived up to his reputation and surged to a substantial lead in his first five visits.
The huge advantage of 150 points put Dawer under pressure from the word go and the formidable Sardar, who is dangerous on his day, never recovered.
"Winning a title after coming back to competition after eight years is a moment to cherish," said a delighted Patel. "I was consistent throughout the tournament and I was particularly happy to beat a solid player like Arun Agrawal earlier in the semi-finals."
"Nalin did not give me a chance," admitted Dawer. "He was in fine form, hardly missing shots. I played badly and when I got my chances, I bungled."
