With the ongoing corruption in the Commonwealth Games and players getting influenced by drugs, former Olympians and sportspersons have come up with an awareness movement "CLEAN SPORTS INDIA" (CSI) to create a clean sporting environment in the country.

The movement aims to create an environment where Indian Olympic Association, and its affiliated units will be managed by former sportspersons. The idea is to provide an atmosphere where sports in India is competed without any influence of drugs. Talking about the movement, sports buff and actor Tom Alter said: "We want former sportspersons to take full charge of administration in sports. With the politicians having taken charge, every sports organisation has gone corrupt.u00a0 We want all our young talent to grow under the expert guidance of players."

Alter added: "Our movement is in a nascent stage but over a period of time, we hope to witness a fair amount of development in sports through this campaign."

The Awareness Rally organised by CSI will commence on Sunday, August 29 at 7:30am at the NCPA, Nariman Point.
