Pune's Raghuvanshi, Abdagiri impress in state snooker

Pune cueists Anand Raghuvanshi and Amol Abdagiri registered impressive wins in the first round of the senior snooker competition, in the Malabar Hill Club Maharashtra state selection billiards & snooker tourney on Saturday.


PYC's Raghuvanshi overcame Viraj Joshi 2-1, while Abdagiri of Deccan Gymkhana prevailed over Jayesh C of Thane 2-0.

Joining the duo in the next round was Sumit Kataria of Deccan Gymkhana, who beat qualifier Akhil Saiyed of Vashi 2-0. Also progressing were Hitesh Kotwani of CCI and Manan Shah of Malabar Hill Club, who upset Manoj Kasare of Khar Gymkhana 2-0.

The qualifiers are Avenish Shah, Vishal Vaya and Sumit Saldurkar of Mandpeshwar CF (Borivli), Shahbaz Khan and Siddharth Shah (Elphinstone CC) and Umesh Barwe of Central Railway.u00a0
