Rafael Nadal is backing Rory McIlroy to clinch his first golf major at the US Open.
Avid golfer Nadal revealed he will be tuning in to events at Congressional as McIlroy attempts to complete victory in the tournament after a scintillating opening three rounds.

"Seriously, it's fantastic watch him what he's doing in this tournament," Spanish World No 1 Nadal said yesterday as he prepares to open the defence of his Wimbledon crown. "I will be supporting him this afternoon, because I think he deserves the title."
Nadal ruled out a repeat of the final day collapse that torpedoed the young Northern Irishman's Masters challenge at Augusta earlier this year.
"He had a very tough fourth round of Augusta this year, and he deserves to win a major because, in my opinion, right now he's playing at a different level than the rest," Nadal said.
