Manchester United are plotting to launch an astonishing bid to bring Real Madrid's world record signing Cristiano Ronaldo back to English football, reports suggest.
Goal.com Spain comments that sources in the capital believe Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to lure Ronaldo back to the venue where his career flourished under the legendary coach, with an audacious 100 million Euros bid being readied.
Given the current financial constraints at the Premier League giants, coupled with the fact that Ronaldo's buy-out clause is 10 times that of United's supposed offer and los Blancos' president Florentino Perez would never sell the player, it would seem that this particular deal is highly implausible.
However, recent speculation as to the source of the Portuguese international's poor form for the capital club has led to rumours that the player may be unhappy with his current role in the team.
While Ronaldo is still finding his feet in the new season it is likely that rumours will continue to intensify until Ronaldo starts to find the target regularly after struggling in front of goal so far this campaign.
