The Russian biathlon federation suspended Andrei Prokunin and Veronika Timofeyeva for two years each after they tested positive for banned drug EPO, local media reported last night.
Reports said that the samples provided by the athletes at the country's championships on March 19, showed traces of the banned substance.
Earlier this year the International Biathlon Union suspended three Russian athletes for two years also for doping violations.
