Man-Marking tactics helped The Scholar High School (Colaba) beat General Education Academy (Chembur) 3-0 in a Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) boys' U-14 Division IV inter-school football match at Goan Sports ground yesterday.
The Colaba outfit shadowed their opponents on the pitch and made it difficult for General Education Academy players to move the ball around the field.
With these tactics they have kept clean sheets in both their matches this season - beating St Antonio D'Silva (Byculla) 4-0 in their first match.
The Colaba team took the lead in the 12th minute after Nilaansh Shah's shot from outside the box on the left
beat the goalkeeper at his near post. In the 23rd minute, Om Kanojia doubled the lead for his side after tapping in Nilaansh's cross. Six minutes later, Anmol Chokshi rounded off the scoring with a header.
